My name is Jane Tom, a Home Safety & Accessibility Specialist and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). I received my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University. For more than 20 years, I have specialized in home care occupational therapy, helping individuals and their families safely navigate their home environments so they can achieve and maintain the highest level of independence possible.

 

While working as an Occupational Therapist was deeply rewarding, I was often frustrated by the medical model’s limited focus on prevention and the lack of insurance coverage for proactive care. Too often, people only receive support after a crisis has occurred.

 

This realization led me to found my own company, dedicated to helping people take a more proactive approach—embracing the aging process and adapting their homes so they can remain safe, independent, and comfortable despite physical changes or disabilities.

 

By blending my clinical expertise with a passion for interior design and hands-on renovation experience, I provide thoughtful, practical solutions that go beyond code compliance—helping clients create homes that truly support mobility, accessibility, and confident aging in place.
